Dirt Platoon is a hardcore, boom-bap–driven hip-hop duo from Baltimore, Maryland, made up of brothers Raf Almighty and Snook Da Crook. Active since the late 1990s, they are regarded as one of the city’s longest-running underground groups, known for gritty, sample-heavy production and raw, street-centered lyricism rooted in classic 1990s East Coast hip-hop. With respected releases such as Deeper Than Dirt and War Face, and collaborations with underground legends like O.C., Dirt Platoon has earned a loyal following in both the U.S. and Europe while remaining fiercely independent and true to the culture.
